The PPC Homework House provides free tutoring to students in grades one through six through a separate non-profit organization. The basic concept of the tutoring program is to provide a safe and friendly environment for students to receive assistance in completing their homework. This need is very real. Students who do not perform well in class tend to dread school and classroom participation. The goal of Homework House is to change the attitude a student has toward school. As a student's performance improves, the student becomes a willing participant in the learning process which can turn a child's life around.
The Homework House at the PPC facility operates from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday for grades 1-6. This wonderful outreach to our community has been very successful in helping children who are struggling with homework issues. If you are interested in being part of this worthwhile program and are available for two hours once or twice a week, be sure to contact Phil Lisman or call or send an e-mail to the church office.
